Dragon Stories: The Brood of Anadlydd Tân(?)


This dragon’s egg was one of a brood that was unearthed in a network of ancient caves on one of the islands off Western Europe. This system of caverns has been thought to be in the vicinity of Golygfa Llyn, the town that was almost demolished by Anadlydd Tân (and where he met his demise).

Although Anadlydd Tân was male, and there are no female dragons mentioned in the works that chronicle his life, it is nonetheless thought that this brood of eggs might be Anadlydd Tân‘s direct descendants (but which generation?). It is not known if the eggs are still viable, but even though we are largely ignorant of dragon reproductive physiology, it seems unlikely that, after what may have been thousands of years, any of the brood will hatch.
